Bonne Fête!

Well I woke up this morning with a sore scratchy throat, wonderful. I had a stomach bug for Christmas, why not have a cold for New Years! It's a clear sign that I need to brush up on my vitamins and start working in the health department, because my immune system seems to be shot! I’m hoping I’ll chase off this cold with tonight’s alcohol. (Don’t judge me.)
One of my besties, is celebrating her 24th today! (Happy Birthday love!) Her sister is throwing her a little potluck shin dig and I’m super excited for this event! With tomorrow being a vacation day for me, today is technically my Friday! Score! Let the celebrations begin!

Happy Birthday!

We've reached Thursday, which means for all of us 9 to 5ers, we're allllllmost at the weekend!
I will have to say that I cannot believe we're already December 1st! WOW! Where did time go? They say that time speeds up the older you get, I'm starting to believe this more and more each day!
We're now 25 days till Christmas and I literally have nothing done! (typical procrastinator right here) I'm pretty much one of those December 23-24th shoppers, which can either backfire with nothing left and frantic crazy people like myself scattering through the malls OR it could be empty and score some sick sale items! We shall see what Christmas shopping 2011 brings me!

In other news, I have to give a big shout out to my good friend AMANDA! Happy Birthday love! We're hitting up a fantastic brunch on Sunday for her birthday and I cannot wait! I just realized that literally after we hit the December mark, every weekend is booked until mid January... gotta start organization my schedule and of course, my outfits!

The following Cupcakes were done for a 90th Birthday party! These were a classic vanilla butter cake (as you can tell by now, its a winner) with vanilla icing! What I love about the classic white, is it's perfect for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and gatherings! The fondant flower & clear sprinkle gives it the perfect touch! How cute are these?

Cute things that would make fun gifts!

Ever since my girlfriend told me about Etsy, I find myself browsing all the time! Just like people who write and sing songs, I really appreciate when something is handmade. It shows a form of creative talent and I feel like you can learn a lot about a person through their work.
After hours of browsing, I have found some really cute gift ideas that would guarantee to put a smile on somebody's face!

Here is a Cupcake Candle that is adorable! It would make great a party favor, stocking stuffer or simply a little (Oh theres something else in the gift bag?) filler. You can purchase this through Etsy on SweetlightCandleCo.

So if you're like me and enjoy coconut on your body rather than in your mouth, check out these life like Cupcake Bath Bombs and Bubblebaths! There's something about the smell of coconut that reminds me of the Caribbean! These would work great as a stocking stuffer, and perfect for when you get back from your winter vacation down south to keep the tan moisturized! The Bath Bombs are made by Sherry Hodgson from Moncton, NB, and can be purchased on Etsy under her page; SherrysSuds.

If you're looking to buy local, similar Cupcake Bath Bombs can also be purchased at Vêtements Façade.

My last gift idea for the day is this fake cupcake, it looks like you could literally take a bite out of it, it looks so real! I have been collecting random "desk flare" for years now. For those of you who are wondering what that is, it is basically random objects and figurines. I have a couple California Raisins, Peter from Family guy, a flying pig & a straw bird some random dude made me in Cuba. I can see this cupcake fitting right in. Mostly because it would be hilarious to see the look on peoples faces when they realize its actually fake! This can also be used as a paperweight or the perfect addition to the classic fake "tea party", that little girl in your life is having. These can be purchased on Etsy on Shimrita's page!

I want to shout out to my Russian & European followers, thanks for the love!
